What the Westchester Township Trustee's Office does IN the community TO promote community!

From 1995 -2018, Westchester Township Trustee's Office co-sponsored an Annual Clothing Exchange, which took place the Friday before school started.  From 7 am - 12 noon, the public was asked to donate good, used clothing.  From 12 noon - 3 pm, the clothing was sorted.  From 3 - 7 pm, the public was invited to come back to select clothing to take home, for free.  Each year there were hundreds of people who attended.   The Clothing Exchange was discontinued when it was no longer needed, due to other organizations opening and operating resale shops.

From 2000-2020, Westchester Township Trustee's Office co-sponsored an Angel Tree with the names of community Seniors and Disabled Adults.  We called each Angel for her/his wish list.   Then the public was invited to pick the name of an Angel and bring to the Trustee's Office a wrapped gift which included something on the Angel's wish list.  Then the Westchester Township Trustee's Office co-sponsored an Angel party with refreshments and games, and the gifts were given to each Angel.  The Angel Tree was discontinued in 2020 due to COVID when the party room was closed.  After COVID our Angels were hesitant to meet with a large group of people.

This is a new program that is being started.  It is a work in progress.
